5 Incredibly Effective Digital Marketing Strategies That Most Marketers Are Too Afraid to Try, by Neil Patel. www.forbes.com

He's the co-founder of Crazy Egg, Hello Bar and KISSmetrics. Top Influencer on the Web, says Wall Street Journal and Entrepreneur Magazine also says, he created one of the 100 most brilliant companies in the World.

He begins with these questions. What are you doing to embrace and tackle marketing industry changes? Are you afraid to try new things? Or are you fearless?

One of the reasons I am so passionate about the marketing industry is the anticipation of changes, and ability to experiment with new marketing tactics and efforts.

Taking chances is often what separates top marketing professional from novices. But how can you separate fads from educated risks? Take a look at the top strategies I've identified that most marketers might deem risky, may not be aware of, or not fully understand. These risks, yes, but they are risks that are worth taking.

1. Switching from outbound to content marketing

In the past, it was enough to highlight your product or services and the hundreds of fantastic features and capabilities. These days, you have to add value to your brand and product/service with content that teaches and establishes you as a thought leader and an expert. Why should your customers believe in what you're selling? Read more...

2. Interactive content

As content marketing rises in popularity, pushing through the clutter is becoming more and more difficult for all of us. But even though we must differentiate ourselves from the pack, we can be hesitant to make our basic content more interactive and exciting. Interactive content can draw more attention to your messaging while increasing your engagement on powerful social media sites. Read more...

3. Embrace up-and coming social media channels

While there remains a place for LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, new social media channels will allow you to reach consumers in new and exciting ways. Additionally, new channels allow you to explore and more creative methods of telling your stories and conveying who you are.

Snapchat, Instant Articles on Facebook, and Instagram stories provide companies and even professionals a channel to experiment and target specific groups and audiences. As a bonus, new and exciting social media channels are often a great place to promote the interactive content discussed above. Read more...

7 Creative Content Marketing Strategies That Are Absolutely Crushing it, by Neil Patel

Neil begins by saying, The Nobel Prize wasn't won with a single flash of insight. Those who have achieved it had to experiment with new ideas over time.

The same is true for content marketing. You can have a handful of really great ideas, but it takes experimentation to set you and your company over the top. Overtime, I've experimented with these ideas and found them to work.

Strategy #1: Use humor (but only if you're actually funny)

What we know from content marketing research is that this industry is all about psychology. When you make your customers feel happy, they react in positive ways toward you. That's why entertaining your users is so important.

Strategy #2: Be responsive

Your customers want to hear from you, especially when they have questions. So give them as many opportunities to hear from you as possible. Set up an autoresponder for email questions so they know you've heard them and will be in touch.

Bulk up your customer service team responding to questions either  by phone, email or chat. Another interactive and effective idea: Take your customer service to social media. Make it a goal to respond to every question within 24 hours. You'll keep building deeper connections and keep your customer happy. Read more...

What Social Media Platform Should You Learn First? by Neil Patel

Social Media is important. Says Neil, there's no denying it. Facebook alone has over 1.6 Billion users, and these users can't be ignored. But if you're just starting out with your online presence, it can be difficult to know where to start.

Each social media network reaches different demographics with different engagement levels for different types of content. A Facebook post won't necessarily work on LinkedIn, nor will the same images succeed between SnapChat and Instagram. Read more...

LinkedIn

B2B marketers largely agree that B2B social media marketing is best done on LinkedIn. A great way of building your LinkedIn following is through groups. Creating and growing a LinkedIn group is a subject I've covered previously on my blog if you're interested. If you're a B2B business, you can't afford to not be on LinkedIn. Read more...

Twitter

Twitter is a microblogging site with over 310 million mostly mobile monthly users. It's used by both B2B and B2C businesses with equal measure to raise brand awareness and share useful information. Like a regular blog content, press releases, pics, and other information. Twitter is also a great place to participate in conversations with customers, clients, the media and general public.
